Availability Workbench 5.0 Released

January 2022 - Isograph are pleased to announce the release of Availability Workbench 5.0

  • Users may now filter grid rows by blank text fields.
  • A new parameter ‘time in standby’ is calculated for RBDBlocks, gates and primary events. The parameter indicated the amount of time a component or system spends in hot, cold or warm standby during the lifetime.
  • Find and replace may now be used to replace blank text fields with text. Dates are now recognised in find and replace.
  • During a simulation watch RBD system blocks now identify whether the system is in standby or not. Component blocks and primary events now indicate if a component is in hot standby (previously hot standby would have been identified as operating)
  • The order of rules may now been changed in the dialogs for the project, task, task group, block, node, gate, primary event and consequence.
  • Weibull set, ALT set and Process reliability 90 and 95% rank reliability estimations can now handle very large sample sizes
  • The primary key for secondary tables has now been disabled in the grid control.
  • A new AvsimPerformRecordRun method has been added to the dll allowing users to record simulation data in a file
  • The offset interval field for tasks and task groups is now disabled in the properties dialog if ‘fixed interval’ is not selected.
  • Users may now globally modify the initial age of RCMCost causes or AvSim blocks and primary events in a project.
  • The failure wizard dialog Weibull diagrams have been improved
  • A failure wizard option has been added to the Weibull Analysis menu and toolbar. The failure wizard allows users to easily create Weibull distributions when no data is available. This is particularly useful when building libraries of Weibull models using engineering experience. The wizard also provides an alternative to the ‘Set distribution parameters manually’ option when no data is available.
  • Weibull failure rate and pdf graphs have an improved algorithm to automatically set the time axis maximum value. The value is set to the time at which 99% of failures have occurred (B99).
  • Memo text field lengths have been extended to 40000 characters (from 2000).
  • Capacity may now be split into multiple products (e.g. oil, gas and water).
  • System capacity plots now have an option to plot the y scale as a log scale.

Report Designer:

  • An SQL query header can be added to all custom queries using SQL Server data sources. This allows the user to create common table expressions, table variables and DECLARE variables for use in the SQL main query.
  • PDF files created by the Report Designer now meet the PDF/A-2 standard. This requires that the fonts used in a published report can be embedded in the PDF file.
  • A dialog has been provided to display the fonts on a machine that support font embedding in PDF files, these fonts can be filtered by supported character set
  • A warning is issued at completion of the publication process to show which fonts (if any) could not be embedded.
  • The Publish to PDF settings dialog has been simplified by removing the WinAnsi encoding option. This has been made possible by improving the performance of processing Unicode fonts.
  • The Syntax Check and Format Query function in the SQL Wizard now performs the syntax check and format according to the version of the connected SQL Server version.
  • A warning is issued when using the SQL Wizard Syntax Check and Format Query function that any comments will be removed when the format is performed. This warning is only issued when there are comments in the query.
  • The Syntax Check and Format Query function in the SQL Wizard now performs the query validation step prior to performing the format of the query. N.B The query validation step checks for incorrect column names and T-SQL functions - these are not validated by the syntax check.
  • A warning is issued when a query will fail because it is processed as a derived table wrapped by a further SELECT query. This extra SELECT query is to enable the correct functioning of the column filters
  • The query controls now display the SQL Server version for SQL Server data sources.
  • Value labels can now be displayed on graph data points. This applies to all graph types apart from pie and pareto types.
  • The value label appearance is fully configurable, including alignment, border, font, fill and data format.
  • The table column descriptions have been added to the Report Wizard text column and text row report query columns.
